Soviet writer Eduard Uspensky, creator of world-famous Cheburashka, dies aged 80

Soviet writer Eduard Uspensky, who created the world-famous Cheburashka character, died in Moscow aged 80, his daughter Irina told TASS on Tuesday.

Uspensky was also the creator of many other stories that were very popular, like Three from Prostokvashino. In Cuba, the cartoon based on this story was known as Leche cortada. You can see the animated film here. He was also the screenwriter of the stories based on his books and characters.
